FAQ’s
What’s included in Reporting?
Transparency is critical to any SEO package. Our team uses a standard set of website measurements to observe the accuracy and distribution of directory listings. You receive a monthly report showing the Local SEO dashboard for each location.
What is Directory Submission?
Websites that show information about businesses are referred to as Directories. We submit each business location to a standard set of the most important business directories and then actively push updates to these platforms. The list includes Google Search, Google Maps, Bing, Facebook, Foursquare, Apple Maps, Waze, Here, Tom Tom, Navmii, Uber, Infobel, ShowMeLocal.
What is a part of Ongoing Updates?
We push updates to directory listings as business information changes including business hours, holiday hours, photos, reviews. You can also provide us updates at any time and we will apply them to all managed directory listings.
What is Aggregator Submission?
Aggregators are businesses that maintain records on a very large number of businesses and provide this data to many other websites, including business directory websites. Pushing business location data to Aggregators allows the listing to be included on many, many more websites and maintains the accuracy of the information presented about the business location. Our list includes Factual, Infogroup, Localeze, The Mirror, The Daily Record, The Evening Standard, Citipages.net.
Does Online Review Management help my business?
Packages that include Review Management come with a nice set of services related to the online reviews that people create about your business location. We monitor incoming reviews on the most important review platforms (Google My Business, Facebook, Yelp) and consult with you on responding to reviews, addressing customer service issues, and improving overall review scores.
Why is Google My Business called out specifically?
Google My Business is by far the most important directory listing for your business. Claiming and actively managing this business listing is included in all packages because it is critical to the success of internet searchers trying to find the business online.
Is removal of Duplicate Listings important?
When a business directory shows more than one listing for a specific business it has a negative impact on the ability of people to find the business online and can drastically hurt search engine results page performance. We actively scan for and remove duplicate listings. Duplicates generally occur because directory websites are retrieving business information from many sources and sometimes a match isn’t found when data is imported.
Do Holiday Hours and Business Hours matter?
Accurate information about when the business location is open or closed is becoming more and more important. Google, for example, will notify searchers when holiday hours were not updated, reducing trust in the information presented online. Mapping tools such as Waze and Google Maps are using this data to notify drivers when businesses open and close. Accurate hours make a direct, positive impact on people searching for the business location.
My business needs to be listed in other Custom Directories
Some of our packages include management of business listing data on business directory websites other than our standard list. Some businesses, for example those in the home services category, see a benefit from being listed on specific business listing websites that are outside of the standard set we manage. Examples include Houzz, Bing Places, and Angie’s List. The number of additional custom directories we will take on for you varies by package.
